Our History

In November 1980, Jack Wilbanks ran an ad in the Sun Herald Newspaper inviting all Mustang owners interested in forming a Mustang club to meet at his shop. When the appointed date arrived, November 15, 1980, over 40 Mustangs appeared in his parking lot, with some from as far away as Louisiana and Alabama. On that date, the Mississippi Coast Mustang Club (MCMC) was born!

In February of 1981 the Mississippi Coast Mustang Club became a Chartered Regional Group of the Mustang Club of America and in November of 1986 MCMC became a Chartered Mississippi Non Profit Corporation. The MCMC Officers that signed the Mississippi Incorporation papers were: Ronald C. Parmley, Benjamin F. Powell and Jack Wilbanks.

MCMC has been very active in putting on car shows and supports the local charities. MCMC’s first Mustang, Shelby and Ford show was held in October of 1981.  MCMC has hosted Mustang Club of America (MCA) National Shows in 1983, 1985, 2000 & 2004, and a Grand National Show in 1987.

MCMC has raffled off many Mustangs over the years including a 1968 Shelby GT500KR Convertible that was given away at the Grand National Show in 1987.
